What is the Process?
Designing and building anything is a very rewarding experience, but it is also a complex process that can be overwhelming at times. To help, the following methodology has been developed to give an idea of scope.
Phase 1
At the beginning of any project we ask that you share your thoughts, dreams and expectations to get a clear understanding of your priorities and project scope. An agreement is written to outline our understanding of your project and to make sure everyone's best interests are taken into consideration.
Phase 2
We can then start to research and explore possible design solutions. This will be done through visual presentation of layouts, as well as images of existing spaces that reflect direction. This phase is where the initial design starts to achieve a practical solution. Communication is always enhanced during this phase as the client will be refining their own ideas of direction. Presentations are made available in print when necessary, but private web sites are made for each project to catalog progress and direction.
Phase 3
After the preliminary design is approved, more detailed studies will be explored along with possible materials and/or methods needed to complete the vision. A more environmentally friendly approach to materials and finishes will be evaluated and presented.
Phase 4
When needing the work of other professional, an integrated design approach has proven to work best. This approach promotes collaboration, encourages innovation, fosters partnerships and synergies, and evaluates performance. The key to the process is a multi-disciplinary and collaborative team whose members make decisions together based on a shared vision and a holistic understanding of the entire project.
Phase 5
This is the project completion phase. It is ensured that everything promised is completed per the designs and agreement initially discussed.
